Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted routine patrols on Glen Morris Road East at approximately 11:16 a.m. on June 8, 2024, resulting in significant traffic enforcement action.

During the patrol, officers observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed of 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The driver, a 19-year-old individual from Cambridge, was stopped and issued serious penalties under the Highway Traffic Act, including charges of:

  • Drive motor vehicle perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Speeding 50 km/h over the posted speed limit

As a consequence of this reckless driving behavior:

  • The driver’s license has been suspended for 30 days.
  • The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.

The Brant OPP underscores that ensuring road safety is a collective responsibility, and enforcement actions are essential to maintaining safe road conditions for everyone.
