On Monday, January 3, 2022, at approximately 12:15 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to an assault related call at a restaurant located on Colborne Street.
Information was received to report that a man entered the store without a COVID facemask and was refused service as per policy.
After being refused service, the accused jumped over the service counter in an effort to serve himself. 
As an employee began to escort the accused from the store, he was physically assaulted by the accused.
The accused then caused damage to a light fixture and shelving unit within the store.
As a result of this incident a 25-year-old man from Brantford (No Fixed Address), stands charged with Assault and Mischief under the Criminal Code, was arrested, and held for bail.
