67-year-old man charged with Aggravated Assault after stabbing

Brantford Police Service67-year-old man charged with Aggravated Assault after stabbing

Officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a report of an assault involving two men at a Market Street location at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Officers attended and upon arrival observed two men arguing. One of the men had sustained an injury, appearing to have been stabbed in the face. The victim was then transported by Emergency Services to hospital to receive medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused male was arrested, search incident to arrest located a small amount of suspected fentanyl in his possession.

Additionally, the accused was determined to be in violation of a valid probation order. 

As a result, a 67-year-old male resident of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act violations: 

  • Probation Order – Non-Compliance 
  • Assault with a Weapon 
  • Aggravated Assault 
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose 
  • Possession Schedule 1 – Fentanyl 

The accused was held for bail.
