A Six Nations resident has been charged with multiple offences after failing to remain at the scene of a collision on Tuscarora Road.
Members of the Six Nations Police Service were advised of a motor vehicle collision at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024.
Witnesses on scene advised that the vehicle fled the scene after colliding with another motorist. The witnesses provided the officers with a description of the vehicle and advised that the vehicle is located at a residence on Tuscarora Road.
Officers attended the address and observed a vehicle matching the description and approached the male driver. An Approved Screening Device demand was read to the male, but he was unable to provide suitable samples. The officers also observed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Ronald LONGBOAT (69 -years-old) of Ohsweken with the following criminal offences:
– Impaired Operation
– Failure or Refusal to Comply
– Fail to Stop at Accident
– Dangerous Driving
– Operation while Prohibited
– Driving while under Suspension x 3
– Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence
– Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle
– Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
The vehicle was impounded, and the accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.
