The Ontario government is supporting a $39.9 million investment by Numesh, the largest Canadian manufacturer of welded steel wire and wire mesh used for concrete reinforcement. The investment, for a new facility in the County of Brant, will create 56 new good-paying jobs.

Numesh’s $39.9 million investment will be used to expand to Ontario by transferring some of the company’s existing business in Quebec. The new facility in Brant County will have innovative, state-of-the-art equipment and technology that will also increase production to help the company meet growing demand and better serve customers in Ontario, Western Canada and the North Central U.S.

As the largest Canadian manufacturer of welded steel wire and wire mesh products for concrete reinforcement, Numesh’s new operation will be a welcome addition to the growing and diversifying local economy,” said David Bailey, Mayor for the County of Brant. “This represents a significant investment for the County of Brant and we look forward to helping Numesh thrive in Ontario.”
As part of this investment to expand their operations to Ontario, the government is providing $2.9 million in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.

Ontario is investing $140 million through its Regional Development Program to support distinct regional priorities and challenges. To date, Ontario has provided more than $92 million to support 87 projects through the program, leveraging more than $950 million in new investments and helping to create more than 1,900 jobs in the province.
