The Games Organizing Committee for the 2023 Ontario 55+ Summer Games is seeking volunteers to support the Games, which will be co-hosted this summer by the City of Brantford and the County of Brant from August 9 to 11, 2023.
The Ontario 55+ Games are a celebration of active living that is hosted every year, alternating between winter and summer, for individuals 55 years of age or older. This summer, our community will welcome up to 1,400 participants, competing across 18 sports, and supported by a team of over 300 volunteers.
“As co-host of the Games, Brantford is looking forward to welcoming athletes and visitors from all across Ontario this summer. I know that they’re going to receive a warm welcome from Brantford, and hope to see many people taking part in the Games as volunteers,” said Kevin Davis, Mayor for the City of Brantford.
In preparation for this event, the Games Organizing Committee is actively recruiting volunteers for a variety of roles in: sports, Opening Ceremony, food services, transportation, signage and marketing, Games headquarters, and information tables. All volunteers will be provided with training and a Games Volunteer t-shirt.
“Volunteering is a great way to support your community, earn volunteer hours, and build new skills. It is a fantastic way to get involved with the 2023 Ontario 55+ Summer Games, and to help welcome participants and spectators of the Games to our beautiful County,” added David Bailey, Mayor for the County of Brant.
