Brant County OPP received a report for a theft at a business on Airport Road on Wednesday August 2, 2023.

The investigation determined a suspect had removed catalytic converters from numerous vehicles parked at the business.

The Brant County OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by Haldimand and Middlesex CSCU, mobilized and were able to locate the stolen property. Mississauga OPP members assisted with a traffic stop where one person was arrested and the stolen catalytic converters were recovered. The total value of the recovered stolen property is approximately $100,000.

One person has been arrested and is facing charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) investigated the theft of catalytic converters from a business in the County of Brant.

A 24-year-old from Brantford has been charged with the following offences:

·        Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence and

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
