Brantford Bulldogs General Manager Matt Turek today announced  the club has agreed to three-year extensions with Bulldogs head coach Jay McKee, as well as, assistant coaches Andreas Karlsson and Andrew Campbell, keeping the Bulldogs 2022  Championship winning staff together long term. 

McKee, joined the team as the Bulldogs’ fifth head coach in franchise history on July 6, 2021, and has been incredibly successful in that time. Leading the Bulldogs to an 87-47-9-2 record in his 145 regular season games behind the bench, McKee led the bench in capturing the 2022  OHL Championship, going a brilliant 16-3 in the post-season. A veteran of 802 NHL games and  in his seventh OHL season as a head coach, McKee has brought his tremendous experience,  character and work ethic to the Bulldogs which has led to the team’s success in his tenure. 

Karlsson, arrived to the Bulldogs organization along with Jay McKee in 2021, re-forming their  partnership from behind the bench in Kitchener. A coaching veteran on both sides of the  Atlantic, Karlsson is in his fith season as an OHL assistant coach and previously served as head  coach for the legendary Frolunda J20 team as well as development coach for their senior side.  Lauded by the players he’s worked with as an incredible teacher and developer of talent,  Karlsson continues to assist Bulldogs talent in reaching the next level. 

Campbell, the longest serving member of the Bulldogs staff joined the team in the 2019-20  season beginning as video coach before being promoted mid-season to assistant coach. Long praised for his leadership ability and character, Campbell was an easy hire for head coach Jay McKee has continued to excel in his role of developing young defensemen.

Jay, Andreas and Andrew all possess the character and work ethic we value so highly with the Bulldogs and we  look forward to seeing them continue to instill those values in the young men learning from them.”.
