No one injured after house being towed falls into ditch in Brant County

Local NewsNo one injured after house being towed falls into ditch in Brant County

Motorists witnessed an unusual traffic incident Tuesday morning as they passed by a house that fell into a ditch in Brant County.

Ontario Provincial Police say a trailer was towing a house around 11 a.m. when a mechanical failure occurred, resulting in the house falling into a ditch on Cockshutt Road near McGill Road.

Const. Conrad Vitalis says no one was injured.

He says the roadway wasn’t damaged and it is not known if there will be any damage to the house until it is removed from the ditch.

While Cockshutt Road remains open, police say motorists can expect delays as heavy equipment lifts the house from the ditch.

OPP say no charges have been laid, however, the Ministry of Transportation is now investigating.
