EducationGrand Erie District School Board reaches final labour agreement

Grand Erie District School Board (GEDSB) announced that it reached an agreement with the Elementary Federation of Teachers of Ontario (ETFO) Grand Erie Designated Early Childhood Educators (DECEs) on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

The agreement was ratified by the Board on March 25, 2024 and is effective through 2026.

ETFO DECE ratified the agreement on March 22. The agreement is for permanent and occasional DECEs in Grand Erie, representing about 190 educators.

“We thank ETFO for their collaboration on completing this agreement,” said Susan Gibson,  Chair of the Grand Erie District School Board. “Grand Erie now has agreements in place with  all union employee groups, and together, we can continue to build on our vision to learn, lead  and inspire.”

“We are excited to complete this agreement in partnership with ETFO, and to now move forward together over the upcoming years with labour certainty with all employee groups,”  said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education at Grand Erie. “Our thanks to all involved in the  negotiations.”
