Brant OPPOakville woman facing Impaired Driving charges

Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received several traffic complaints regarding erratic driving behavior from a vehicle described as a grey Mercedes at approximately 3:39 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Brant County OPP swiftly responded to the situation and successfully located the vehicle, initiating a traffic stop on Paris Links Road, west of Heming Street.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that the female driver, a 27-year-old from Oakville, was operating the vehicle while impaired. Officers also discovered that an infant child was secured in a child seat in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.

The driver has been charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired BAC over 80
  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Drive- handheld communication device.

The Brant County OPP underscores the critical importance of safe and sober driving. Instances such as these highlight the potential dangers and consequences of impaired driving, especially when innocent lives, such as that of a child, are put at risk.
