The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a successful traffic safety initiative over the Canada Day Week, resulting in the issuance of over 180 provincial charges aimed at ensuring the safety of all road users.
Between June 21 and July 1, Brant OPP officers were actively engaged in heightened traffic enforcement as part of the Canada Day Week traffic safety initiative. This operation focused on reducing the incidence of dangerous driving behaviors, promoting adherence to traffic laws, and enhancing overall road safety.
Key results of the initiative include:
133 Speeding Tickets Issued: Excessive speed remains a leading cause of traffic collisions and injuries. The Brant OPP’s focus on speed enforcement is a critical measure in mitigating these risks and ensuring that drivers adhere to posted speed limits.
2 Stunt Driving Charges: Stunt driving is a serious offense that endangers not only the driver but all road users. The charges issued reflect the OPP’s zero-tolerance policy towards such behavior.
Numerous Other Violations: In addition to speeding and stunt driving, officers issued various other provincial charges addressing a range of infractions, from seatbelt violations to insurance related offences.
