Six Nations Police arrest individual after traffic stop

Members of the Six Nations Police have arrested and charged an individual following a traffic stop.  

Six Nations Police were on patrol when they observed a vehicle, know to be operated by a disqualified driver, travelling on Tuscarora Road at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Officers activated emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle as it pulled into a residence. Officers observed a male driver and female passenger in the vehicle, both known to police as disqualified drivers. The male driver was successfully arrested without incident but was actively resistant while in custody and verbally threatened the officers.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Trevor MCNAUGHTON (42 years old) of Ohsweken, ON with the following offences: – Operation while Prohibited  

– Obstruct Peace Officer 

– Uttering Threats  

– Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle x 2  

– Driving while under Suspension  

– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence  

– Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance  

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days, and the accused was held in custody  pending a formal bail hearing.
