Brantford man charged with breaking and entering

On Thursday, November 25, 2021, at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a residence located on Duke Street in regards to a Break and Enter.
A resident called 911 to report an unknown man had attempted to break into her house and was presently in her backyard with her husband.
The occupants of the residence were at home during the incident and were alerted to the intruder’s presence by their barking dog. The male resident then observed the accused in his residence and gave chase. After a short foot chase, the accused was stopped and held for police arrival.
The accused was found to be in possession of two bags containing items stolen from the residence. The items were returned to their rightful owner.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old man from Brantford (No Fixed Address) stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences: 
  • Break, Enter and Commit  
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
