Why I am a proud Conservative but will be voting for someone else

In stark contrast, the current direction of the Conservative Party under Pierre Poilievre deviates sharply from this legacy. Poilievre’s approach, characterized by aggressive rhetoric and divisive tactics, has strayed from the progressive conservative tradition. His focus on inflaming partisan divides and exploiting public grievances seems more aimed at scoring political points than fostering constructive dialogue or addressing real issues.
The tactics employed by Poilievre and his allies, from inflammatory statements to outright denial of scientific consensus, are troubling. They prioritize short-term gains over long-term stability, neglecting the responsibility of leadership to guide with integrity and respect. This confrontational style not only alienates moderate voters but also undermines the credibility of the conservative movement as a whole.
As a proud conservative, I find it essential to uphold the values that have historically defined our party: respect for democratic norms, commitment to effective governance, and a balanced approach to policy-making.
