Brantford to host second annual Culture Days on the Trails

City of Brantford will be hosting the second annual Culture Days on the Trails event along a section of the SC Johnson Trail on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

During the event, which runs from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., residents and guests are invited to walk along a 2.6 km stretch of the SC Johnson Trail between the Hardy Road parking lot and Lafayette Avenue and attend twelve free mini-concerts and performances featuring painters, musicians, and dancers.

Altitude Coffee Roasters will be on-site with their full-service coffee shop trailer, featuring hot and cold beverages.

Parking will be available at the parking lots on Hardy Road and at the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant. On-street parking is also available on Parkside Drive, between Dufferin Avenue and Preston Boulevard.

·        Sumeda Mongia – Dancer

“We are thrilled to take part in the nationwide Culture Days celebration with our second annual Culture Days on the Trails event,” said Kara Davey, Manager of Tourism, Culture and Sport.  “This year, twelve local painters, musicians and dancers will activate a section of the SC Johnson Trail to celebrate Brantford’s beautiful trail system and the vast array of talent in our community.”

The rain date for this event will be Sunday, September 22.

Attendees are also invited to visit the Grand River Arts Festival happening on the grounds of the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant on the same day. The Grand River Arts Festival is a celebration and exhibition of visual arts, music, and theatre. The event will include 50+ exhibiting artists who will sell their works, 16 theatre performances participating in the 10-Minute Play Competition, The Grand Impressionists painting competition, Brantford Potter’s Guild sale in the Gardener’s Cottage, performance art by Big Cityyy Arts, food trucks and all-day musical performances on the main outdoor stage.
