Brantford residents encouraged to “Stuff the Bus”

Brantford Food BankBrantford residents encouraged to "Stuff the Bus"

The City of Brantford, Brantford Fire and Hot Country 93.9, in partnership with the Brantford Food Bank, invite residents to stuff a Brantford Transit bus with donations for the food bank on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the FreshCo located at 50 Market Street. Hot Country 93.9’s promotional team will also be on location playing music and hosting a draw to win a $50 McDonald’s gift card to those who donate.

“The Brantford Food Bank provides emergency food assistance to food insecure individuals throughout our community, and this year, need has never been greater,” said Heather Vanner, Executive Director of Community Resource Service. “We are grateful to the City of Brantford and Brantford Fire for organizing this event and getting the community to come together to support those most in need.”

The goal for the day is to collect 1,000 pounds of food to those who need it the most. All donations are welcomed, but the following items are most in need:

  • canned fruit and vegetable
  • canned meat
  • peanut butter
  • dry pasta
  • canned soup
  • canned beans and stews
  • cereal and oatmeal
  • crackers
  • baby formula

When dropping off donations, join the conversation on social media by posting a photo using the hashtag #StuffTheBusBrantford.
