Six Nations Emergency personnel announce partnership with Wounded Warriors

Local NewsSix Nations Emergency personnel announce partnership with Wounded Warriors

Six Nations Police, Fire, Emergency Services and Paramedic Services announced a new partnership with Wounded Warriors Canada on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

The organizations will work together to offer innovative mental health training and counselling services to the First Responders of Six Nation of the Grand River.

The First Responders of Six Nations are highly trained professionals who are confronted with traumatic situations that can be difficult to process due to the nature of their work.

Warriors Canada is a national mental health service provider dedicated to serving Trauma Exposed Organizations, Trauma Exposed Professionals, and their families. By working together, the First Responders and family members of Six Nations will receive occupationally informed services that utilize a combination of education, counselling, and training approaches to support resiliency and recovery from post-trauma injuries.

“Given the complexities of operational stress injuries, we know that no single organization can provide the 100 per cent solution when it comes to the mental health and wellness needs of its members and their families,” said Scott Maxwell, Chief Executive Officer of Wounded Warriors. “Partnerships are vital. We are proud to announce this innovative new partnership with the First Responder agencies of the Six Nations of the Grand River and we look forward to working together in the months and years to come.”
