The City of Brantford, and its community partners, will be hosting a series of free information sessions for seniors in support of Financial Literacy Month this November.
Every year, Financial Literacy Month focuses on advancing the goals of the National Financial Literacy Strategy and helping Canadians confidently navigate financial decisions in challenging times and a digital economy. While the information sessions were designed with seniors in mind, all are welcome to attend.
“With the significant rise of scams, it is vital that our aging population have access to financial literacy information, resources, tools and services to assist them with decision-making throughout every age and stage of life,” said Kevin Davis, Mayor for the City of Brantford.
The presentations will be hosted by representatives from the Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada, Brant Skills Centre and the Community Legal Clinic. Some of the topics of presentations include:
