Two individuals have been arrested and charged with multiple offences after complaints were received about their behaviour at a local public area.
Members of the Six Nations Police were advised of possible impaired guests at a public community area at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
The caller advised police that a male visitor on the property was operating a motor vehicle while potentially impaired. When police arrived on scene, they observed a female being disruptive to the community area. Signs of impairment were observed on both individuals. Police spoke with witnesses at the scene that were able to place both individuals behind the wheel of the vehicle on separate occasions prior to police arrival. Police also observed damage to a fence.
As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Jose LOURENCO (45-years-old) of Amaranth, ON with the following criminal offences:
– Impaired Operation
– Alcohol per se Offence “80 plus”
– Necessaries of Life – Child or Spouse x 2
– Dangerous Driving
– Mischief under $5,000
Police have also arrested and charged Cleonice LOURENCO (42-years-old) of Amaranth, ON with the following criminal offences:
– Impaired Operation
– Alcohol per se Offence “80 plus”
– Necessaries of Life – Child or Spouse x 2
– Causing Disturbance
– Obstruct Peace Officer
Both accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, Ontario on November 21, 2024. Both accused had their licences suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
