In September 2024, the Brantford Police Service Drug and Firearm Enforcement Unit launched a drug investigation, involving a suspected drug dealer engaged in trafficking fentanyl within the City of Brantford.
The Brantford Police Service Drug and Firearm Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the BPS Emergency Response Team and K-9 Unit, conducted two search warrants at residences located on Henry Street and Charing Cross Street in Brantford on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
A large quantity of Canadian Currency, drug manufacturing tools and materials were located along with the following illicit drugs:
- Approximately 3,104.4 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Approximately 320.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Approximately 86.6 grams of suspected cocaine
- 1,211 suspected hydromorphone pills
This seizure of fentanyl represents the largest amount to date obtained as a result of a Brantford Police Service investigation. The estimated street value of the drugs seized totals $692,675 when trafficked at the drug user level.
As a result of this investigation, three residents of Brantford, a 37-year-old man, a 24-year-old female and a 26-year-old male, were arrested and each stand charged with four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
