The Brantford Psychic and Crystal Fair came to town, with vendors offering psychic readings, tarot cards, reflexology and more from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The fair brought together psychics, mediums, palm readings, numerology, astrology, tarot card readings, intuitive healers, crystal vendors and more. Attendees could get in for a $10 weekend pass and then pay for services at each vendor.
Vendors offered a mix of services, like reflexology or tarot card readings, and goods, like crystals, rings, candles, and jewellery. The cost of services generally started around $60 or higher, depending on the service and duration.
The fair was organized by Bonnie Thompson, a psychic medium from Ottawa and owner of Thompson Events.
Thompson said she used to host her own show, Messages from Above with Bonnie Thompson, on Rogers TV. She appears regularly as a guest spot on different radio and TV programs, often around Halloween.
Over the last 15 years, she’s been organizing these fairs around Ontario. She’s running over 30 fairs in 2024, including fairs in Windsor, St. Catherines, North Bay and more.
“I’ve always been a reader,” Thompson said. “So I thought running a Crystal Wellness Fair would be really nice to help, like, the general public.”
It was her second time bringing the fair to Brantford.
At the fair, Thompson said she’d met someone who had been to the fair in Brantford last year. Some people follow them online and may pre-book an appointment with one of the vendors or come to see a specific person. Others may wander in, not knowing quite what to expect but wanting to check it out.
“It’s all about helping people,” Thompson said, adding that a lot of people come to the fairs looking for guidance on their sense of direction. “I always say we cannot alter your journey, but we can give you suggestions of what we’re hearing and seeing at the moment.”
