Updates to the Grand River Source Protection Plan

Public NoticeUpdates to the Grand River Source Protection Plan

Members of the public are invited to read and comment on proposed updates to the Grand River Source Protection Plan. The Plan has been prepared under the Clean Water Act, 2006 to protect municipal sources of drinking water and ensure their sustainable use into the future.

The Source Protection Program is designed with continuous improvements in mind. Updates to the Source Protection Plan are proposed to incorporate new technical information and revised policies for the Brant County and City of Brantford Drinking Water Systems, including addition of a Sodium and Chloride Issue Contributing Area at the Bethel Road wellfield in Paris. Policies for the County of Brant and City of Brantford have also been updated to conform with the 2021 Technical Rules for identifying drinking water threats.
