The City of Brantford, in partnership with the Dogford Park Neighbourhood Association, will be hosting the grand opening celebration of the Small Dog Park, located at 189 Gilkinson Street, on Saturday, June 18, 2022.

The free event will include treats for the dogs, door prizes, Marco the Clown, coffee, donuts and pastries while supplies last, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.

“The addition of a separate area for small dogs at Dogford Park was a truly collaborative effort by park users, community businesses, the Dogford Park Neighbourhood Association and the City of Brantford,” said Brian Hinkley, Chair of the Dogford Park Neighbourhood Association.

The new park features include a new fenced in greenspace with benches for seating, information kiosk and additional trees for shade.

The celebration will include free activities for the community such as snacks and refreshments, treats for the dogs, door prizes, Marco the Clown, and official ribbon ceremony at 11 a.m. with Mayor Kevin Davis and Ward 1 Councillors Rose Sicoli and Jan Vanderstelt. Free parking will be available during the event.
