The City of Brantford is inviting residents to join our neighbourhood associations to celebrate the new playground grand openings at Cockshutt Park, Moose Park and Spring Buck Park. On-site parking is available for all events.
“City of Brantford parks services staff worked very hard to design playgrounds that were informed with input from nearby residents who use these parks the most. It’s very rewarding to see neighbours come together and celebrate a project that they helped to create,” said Rick Cox, Director of Parks and Facilities Services for the City of Brantford.
Cockshutt Park
Hosted by the City in partnership with the West Brant Neighbourhood Association, celebrate the new Cockshutt Park playground on Saturday, June 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Located at 35 Sherwood Drive, celebrate with free family fun activities including fun games and crafts supplied by the I’mperfect Room, ice cream and cake, while supplies last, and refreshments. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 12:00 p.m. with Ward 1 Councillor Rose Sicoli.
“Cockshutt Park is a wonderful green space with large shade trees and play area for families to enjoy and stay active in Brantford. We are thrilled to celebrate the new playground opening so families can connect with neighbours in their community and enjoy the much-awaited opening,” said RL Jancik, Chair of the West Brant Neighbourhood Association.
New park features include a new junior equipment designed for children ages 2 to 5 and senior playground equipment designed for children ages 5 to 12 and swings, sand play area with a log table, chairs and stools and a log boarder which can be used for seating. In addition, new accessible pathways provide access to the playground and 12 new trees for additional shade and three new benches have been added.
Moose Park
Join the Eagle Place Community Association for a party at Moose Park on Saturday, July 9 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Located at 40 Webling Street, enjoy free fun for the entire family including children’s activities, chess games, bouncy castle, and pizza and refreshments, while supplies last. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. with Brantford Mayor Davis and Ward 5 Councillors Joshua Wall and Brian Van Tilborg.
“I have so many great childhood memories at Moose Park. The community is thrilled with the new playground, especially the addition of the new basketball nets,” said Mandy Samwell, President of the Eagle Place Community Association.

Residents can enjoy new accessible paved pathways, 12 additional trees for shade and three new park benches.
Spring Buck Park and Holmedale Porch Party
Join the City and Holmedale Neighbourhood Association, in celebrating the new Spring Buck Park playground and Holmedale Porch Party with free activities on Sunday, July 10 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 59 Spring Street. There will be live music, an Artists Alley, fire truck pull, line dancer performance, games for the kids, community partners info area, food and refreshments, while supplies last. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. with Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis and Ward 2 Councillors John Utley and John Sless.
“The Holmedale Neighbourhood Association is excited to welcome visitors to Holmedale and bring back the Porch Party. We are looking forward to celebrating the new playground equipment at Spring Buck Park with residents and hope everyone will come out and join us,”
