Several vehicles in the north end of Paris had their windows broken during vehicle entries, sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday August 2, 2022, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Brant County Detachment received multiple vehicle entry and theft reports in the north end of Paris within the County of Brant.
Sometime overnight, unknowns attended the driveway of multiple addresses and gained entry to several locked vehicles by breaking their side windows. The suspect removed laptops, dashboard cameras and personal items located inside the vehicles. In video footage obtained by police, one suspect arrived on foot and went from car to car, looking inside with a flashlight before breaking specific windows.
Here are some tips to protect your property:
- Always secure your vehicle windows and doors when parking your vehicle, even if you are only going to be a few minutes.
- Never leave valuable objects, wallets, purses, or packages in full view. Remove them or lock them in the trunk.
- Clean out your garage and park your vehicle in it – locking your vehicle and the garage door.
- If your vehicle is equipped with a security system, remember to activate it.
