Brant OPPBrant County man facing multiple charges after head-on collision

One person is facing multiple criminal charges, including impaired driving, after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members investigated a head-on collision Friday evening in the County of Brant.

On Friday December 2, 2022, at approximately 8:32 p.m., Brant County OPP officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 24 near Oakland Road.

It was determined two vehicles traveling in opposite directions struck head-on. One involved vehicle left the scene of the collision prior to police arrival. There were no injuries reported.

An OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) unit working in the area later observed the vehicle where it failed to stop for police.

Shortly afterwards, a Six Nations Police Service member located the vehicle near the border of Brant County and Six Nations. One person was arrested and transported to Brant County OPP detachment for testing.

Police have charged Kenneth J SPRIET, 57-years-of-age from Brant County with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Flight from peace officer,
  • Dangerous operation and
  • Failure to stop after accident.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
