A private funeral service for Ontario Provincial Police Const. Grzegorz (Greg) Pierzchała will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Saldon Arena in Barrie.
Police say the funeral service is not open to the public, but it will be livestreamed on the CHCH News YouTube channel.
Hundreds of first responders and the public attended a procession on Friday to pay tribute to the slain officer.
The procession carrying the body of 28-year-old Const. Greg Pierzchala travelled from Toronto to Barrie Ont., which is his hometown.
Pierzchala had just completed his probation to become a permanent member of the OPP.
The Haldimand County OPP Detachment officer was fatally shot near Hagersville, Ont. while responding to reports of a vehicle in a ditch at Indian Line and Concession 14 around 2:40 p.m. on Dec. 27.
Two suspects in the shooting death of the officer are facing first-degree murder charges.
Officers arrested and charged 25-year-old Randall McKenzie and 30-year-old Brandy Stewart-Sperry.
The suspects appeared virtually in a Cayuga court on Dec. 28 from jail. They will be held in custody until their next court appearance on Jan. 17.
