Brant OPPBrant County man facing Impaired Operation charges

A 26-year-old from Brant County is facing charges after a Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member initiated a traffic stop in the County of Brant Sunday evening.

An officer with the Brant County OPP was conducting proactive patrols when they located a vehicle on Middle Townline Road at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Sunday May 28, 2023.

Police initiated a traffic stop to check the sobriety of the driver. One person was arrested and transported to Six Nations Police detachment for testing.

Police have charged 26-year-old Darian Tamara KOPPELAAR, from Brant County with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
