County of BrantCounty of Brant receives grant for seniors' programming

The County of Brant received $24,667 to offer the Seniors to Seniors: Healthy Aging Lecture Series from the Federal Government’s New Horizons Seniors Grant for Seniors Program.

“We are thankful for this grant as it allows the County of Brant to offer a variety of new workshops and a lecture series for seniors,” said Sarah Dredge, Community Development Supervisor. “With this grant, we can keep costs low or offer the workshops for free on a monthly basis.  Workshops will be held throughout the County of Brant in various locations and free transportation is provided to each workshop, as well as light refreshments.  We hope you will join us!”

The new workshop series will begin in June 2023 and end March 2024.

The first workshop, taking place on June 7, 2023, is “Healthy Aging for Seniors”. The Brant County Health Unit will offer information, tips, tricks and ideas to age healthily.  To register, visit www.brant.ca/COBConnect

“We also invite you to join our email distribution list to receive notifications about upcoming lectures and workshops,” added Dredge.

Emails can be sent to ParksAndRec@brant.ca and in the subject box add the title “Seniors Email Distribution List”.
