Assumption College students to take part in fashion show

Local NewsAssumption College students to take part in fashion show

Over 50 students from Assumption College School (ACS) will be involved in presenting a fashion show at the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

The event, which begins at 6:00 p.m., will highlight the long-standing relationship between ACS and SSVP Brant.  Over the past decade, Assumption students have raised over $37,000 in support of the Bed for Every Child Program, which is run by the SSVP Brant through the Thrift Store. Tens of thousands of pounds of food have been collected by ACS students to support the neighbours in need food program run by the Society.

SSVP Brant Store Manager, Kristine Paul describes it this way, “The Fashion Show is a way for SSVP Brant to thank the students for all they do for us, and to allow them to showcase their many talents.  This is not your typical fashion show; there will be fashion, music, dance, a café and a craft marché and door prizes,” said Kristine Paul, Store Manager for SSVP Brant.

Danielle Beccari, ACS Fashion Teacher and organizer of the event, has created an evening where you will experience a “Rendezvous à Paris”.

“Paris is one of my favourite places on earth and Paris fashion is so chic and accessible.  Wait until you see the beautiful clothing on view, all selected from the beautiful donations made to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. The students are so excited to walk the runway all the while promoting sustainable fashion choices, reasonable prices, and supporting the work of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul,” added Beccari.

Any money made will go to support the works of the ACS Student Council.
