Four people are in police custody after a man was allegedly assaulted and robbed early on the morning of Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

Officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a residence located on Tenth Avenue near Division Street after receiving a report of a robbery and assault at approximately 5:30 a.m.

A 19-year-old male victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers attended the scene, and after investigation, four individuals from Brantford are now in custody and stand charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

A 23-year-old man stands charged with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking

A 22-year-old man stands charged with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm

A 28-year-old female stands charged with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm, and 

A 22-year-old female stands charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer

As the information for the accused has not yet been sworn to in court, the names of the accused cannot be released.

The Brantford Police Service would like to advise the public that there is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident. The involved parties were known to each other. This was not a random incident.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
