A 44-year-old Brantford man is facing charges in relation to an assault and robbery at a cannabis retail location. 

On Saturday, April 29, 2023, at approximately 9:45 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend an assault and robbery-related call at a cannabis retail store located on Dalhousie Street. 

The accused is reported to have entered the store, allegedly assaulting an employee with a shirt containing rocks before fleeing on foot with a laptop.

The victim sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the attack.

Officers attended and located the accused nearby. After a short foot chase, the accused was apprehended to police custody.

The laptop was recovered.

Further investigation revealed the accused was also wanted on a parole revocation warrant.

As a result, a 44-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Robbery
  • Obstruct Police Officer

The accused was held for bail.
