Brant OPPBrant County man facing charges after Hwy. 403 rollover

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 403 near Bishop’s Gate at approximately 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

The vehicle was reported to have rolled into the ditch while travelling eastbound.

Officers patrolled the area and located an overturned vehicle in the eastbound ditch at approximately 4:16 a.m. A male pedestrian was observed walking along the highway and identified himself as the driver of the vehicle.

Further investigation led officers to form reasonable grounds to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Brant OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Michael Boyle, 24, of Brant County, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Impaired

In addition to the charge, the driver’s vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Brantford Court of Justice at a later date in February.
