Officers from the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting proactive traffic patrols when they observed a vehicle travelling at an excessive speed on Scott Avenue in Paris, a known area for speeders, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

The vehicle was clocked at 120 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone, more than double the legal speed limit. The officer promptly stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as an 18-year-old resident of Paris.

As a result of this dangerous driving behavior, the vehicle has been impounded for 14 days, and the driver’s license has been suspended for 30 days. The driver is now facing several serious charges, including:
