Brantford launches online flood map tool

Local NewsBrantford launches online flood map tool

Brantford has launched a new online tool to help residents identify flood zones in the city.

The City of Brantford’s Mapping System has been created in collaboration with the Grand River Conservation Authority (GCRA) due to the history of floods in the city.

The tool has five flood zones listed under “GRCA Flood Zones,” with each zone showing a different level of flooding. Users can enter their address into the tool and use the flood layers to determine if their location falls within an at-risk zone.

Residents can use this map to assess their risk of flooding and take action to protect themselves and their property.

At the moment, the flood zones only apply to Brantford’s municipal boundary.
