Brantford man facing multiple drug trafficking offences

Members of the Brantford Police Service High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) and the Brantford Police Service Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response Unit (TIGER) conducted a drug trafficking investigation and have arrested and charged a 43-year-old Brantford man with multiple offences.

As a result of the investigation, the suspect was arrested on August 28, 2024, at a Wayne Gretzky Parkway location. Members of the Brantford Police Service were granted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant which was executed August 28, 2024, at a Granka Street residence.

During the search of the residence, officers located the following:

  • A loaded handgun
  • Firearm magazine, loaded with ammunition
  • Additional ammunition
  • Approximately 145 grams of suspected MDMA/Ecstasy
  • Approximately 155 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • A large amount of Canadian Currency

The approximate street value of the MDMA/Ecstasy, when trafficked by the gram is $14,360. The approximate street value of the Cocaine when trafficked by the gram is approximately $15,490. The total value of illegal drugs seized is $29,850. 

At the time of the search, the suspect was bound by two firearm prohibition orders. 

As a result of this investigation, a 43-year-old man from Brantford, was arrested, held for bail and stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, MDMS/Ecstasy, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession for the purpose of Trafficking, Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a prohibited device, firearm magazine, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to Order, contrary to the Criminal Code x2
  • Careless storage of firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a restricted firearm with Ammunition, contrary to the Criminal Code
