On Sunday, July 31, 2022, at approximately 8:15 a.m., patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a vehicle travelling west bound on Dalhousie Street near King Street at a high rate of speed. 

A traffic stop was conducted near the Lorne Bridge, at Colborne Street West. When speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment.  

An Approved Screening Device was administered, which was failed.  At this point, the accused was arrested, and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law.

Both samples provided were over the legal limit.

As a result, a 22-year-old female from Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Operation While Impaired 
  • 80 Plus 

Additionally, the licence of the accused was suspended, and the vehicle impounded.
