Brantford Police officer charged with Obstructing Justice

A member of the Brantford Police Service was charged by police on March 8, 2023. 

The officer, who has been with the Police Service for five years, was charged after an investigation into their conduct related to a September 21, 2022, incident.

As a result of the investigation, the member stands charged with Obstructing Justice, contrary to Section 139 (2) of the Criminal Code and a court appearance has been scheduled for November 19, 2024, in Brantford.

The member has been suspended from duty since October 28, 2022. This suspension remains in effect pending the outcome of the Criminal Court process. 

“This alleged incident is not reflective of the values of the Brantford Police Service. At the core of the Brantford Police Service is a team of dedicated sworn and civilian members who provide professional service to our community and demonstrate a strong moral compass based on trust, dignity, and respect,” said the Brantford Police Service, in the release.
