Brantford Police seize drugs after traffic stop

Patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a suspicious vehicle travelling south bound on House Avenue with unauthorized license plates at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, March 28.

Police conducted a traffic stop and placed the driver under arrest.

Search incident to arrest located approximately 22.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1.3 grams of suspected fentanyl and 3.1 grams of suspected cocaine. The total street value of the illicit drugs was estimated at $4,097.

Investigation revealed that the accused was operating the vehicle without insurance and was a suspended driver.

As a result, Jason Kenneth James WALKER, 36, from Simcoe, stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose x 3, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Permit use of plate not authorized for motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
