Brantford man facing multiple charges after Break and Enter
Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a call related to a break and enter at an automobile repair shop located on West Street at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
Investigation revealed that a witness had observed the front door of the shop to be damaged and the accused was found inside.
Police were then called, and the accused fled on foot. Officers attended, located, and arrested the accused nearby.
A search incident to arrest found the accused to be in possession of keys belonging to a vehicle from the shop, and break-in instruments.
Investigation revealed that the accused is alleged to have taken the keys in an attempt to steal a motor vehicle from the shop.
Additionally, it was determined that the accused was in violation of a valid Probation Order.
As a result, Jeremy PORTH, 36, of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Break, enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence
- Theft Under
- Possession of Stolen Goods, Under $5,000
- Possession Break-In Instruments
- Attempt Motor Vehicle Theft
- Breach of Probation
The accused was held for bail.
Brantford man facing Assault With a Weapon and Uttering Threats charges
Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a disturbance at a Bissett Street location at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Officers were advised that a neighbour dispute had occurred, resulting in one neighbour threatening to shoot the other. Witnesses reported that it appeared the accused was in possession of a weapon.
Officers attended and the accused was arrested without incident.
As a result, a 29-year-old man of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Cause disturbance
- Breach probation
The accused was held for bail.
Brantford Police charge 42-year-old man with Impaired Operation
On Friday, October 7, 2022, at approximately 11:40 P.M., patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a vehicle driving in an erratic and dangerous manner on Grey Street near West Street.
A traffic stop was conducted and in speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment.
The accused was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples were over the legal limit.
As a result, a 42-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Impaired Operation
- Plus 80
Additionally, the driver’s licence of the accused was suspended, and the vehicle impounded.
Police charge Brantford man with Robbery
On Thursday, October 6 ,2022, at approximately 7:45 P.M., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a robbery that had occurred at a Charlotte Street residence.
It was reported that the accused attended the residence of the victim where, after gaining entry through the secure entrance, he proceeded to knock at the door to the victim’s unit.
When the victim answered, the accused allegedly brandished a knife to gain entry to the unit, where he is then reported to have assaulted the victim.
The victim sustained minor physical injuries. The accused allegedly stole several items including a wallet, and a quantity of cash before fleeing on foot.
Officers attended and through investigation, the accused was arrested and held for bail.
As a result of the investigation, Jordan William ARNAUT, 40, of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

- Unlawfully in a Dwelling
