57-year-old man facing Operation while Impaired charges
On Sunday, August 6, 2023, a report was received from a concerned citizen to advise of a possible impaired driver in the area of Lynden Road and Wayne Gretzky Parkway.
Officers attended and located the accused, who showed signs of impairment.
The accused was then transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were over the legal limit.
As a result, a 57-year-old male, who is a non-resident of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Operation while Impaired – Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the licence of the driver was suspended.
Police charge man with Operation while Impaired
On Sunday, August 6, 2023, at approximately 2:50 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Erie Avenue and Cayuga Street after receiving a report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the intersection.
Officers attended the area and located the vehicle travelling westbound on Dalhousie Street, erratically and at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop occurred at Colborne Street and Icomm Drive. When speaking with the accused, officers observed signs of impairment.
The accused was arrested and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were over the legal limit.
As a result, a 35-year-old male, who is a non-resident of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violation:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the licence of the driver was suspended.
