Brantford will be celebrating the completion of the Grandwoodlands Park playground renovation on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

This free event will include children’s entertainment, cake and refreshments, while supplies last, and an official ribbon cutting ceremony.

“We’re thrilled to officially celebrate the completion of another beautiful playground upgrade for the families in our community to enjoy,” said Jennifer Middleton, Coordinator of Special Events for the City of Brantford. “We hope to see residents join us in celebrating the official opening,”

New features include new junior playground equipment designed for children ages 2 to 5 and senior play equipment designed for children ages 5 to 12 with swings and sand play area. New paved accessible pathways including paved connections to a portable toilet and multi-use pad to play basketball, ball hockey and other games are also included in the new design. Three new park benches were installed and 14 trees to provide additional shade were planted.

This free event will include free giveaways, cake and refreshments, while supplies last and children’s entertainment including a bouncy castle. Free street parking is available. The official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. with Brantford Mayor Davis and Ward Counsellors Dan McCreary and Greg Martin.
