City of BrantfordBrantford to celebrate National Public Works Week

The City of Brantford and the Neighbourhood Hubs Association will be hosting the second Annual “Wheels on the Pavement” event on Sunday, May 15, 2022.

The event, which will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brantford and District Civic Centre, will include an assortment of trucks, police vehicles, city vehicles, a fire truck, booths, food trucks and free entertainment to celebrate National Public Works Week. Everyone is welcome to enjoy this free community event where kids of all ages can see, touch, climb and explore.

“We’re offering an educational opportunity for the public, especially kids, to get up close to City vehicles that are used to repair and maintain infrastructure and move people through the City of Brantford,” said Inderjit Hans, General Manager, Public Works, City of Brantford.

A free bike valet with supervised security will be available during the “Wheels on the Pavement “for those who’d like to cycle to the event. Free parking is available in the Earl Haig Family Fun Park parking lot and the Market Street Parkade.

“Brantford’s four Neighbourhood Hub Associations are proud to present our second annual “Wheels on the Pavement” touch a truck event,” said Jayme Wilson, Chair, DCNA. “We are so excited to welcome everyone back to the Brantford and District Civic Centre for our first official collaborative event since 2019.”

Event organizers will be collecting non-perishable school snacks such as granola bars, apple sauce, fruit cups, etc., to help support our local schools.
