The City of Brantford will celebrate the grand opening of the playground at Pleasant Ridge Park, located at 20 Elderwood Avenue, on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

The free event will include character meet and greets with Rose Princess and Midnight Princess, sidewalk chalk fun, refreshments, and popcorn, while supplies last, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. and cake will be served.

“Pleasant Ridge Park is another green space and play area for families to enjoy and stay active in Brantford,” said Jennifer Middleton, Coordinator of Special Events for the City of Brantford. “We are thrilled to be able to celebrate so families can connect with neighbours in their community.”

The new park features include new junior equipment designed for children ages 2 to 5 and senior equipment for children 5 to 12. New swings, a sand play area and asphalt paved pathways, benches and nine new shade trees complete the new park amenities.

The official ribbon ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. with Mayor Kevin Davis and Ward 1 Councillors Rose Sicoli and Jan Vanderstelt. On-street parking will be available during the event.
