Brantford woman facing second degree murder charge

Brantford police have arrested and charged a 37-year-old female with second degree murder. 

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a Colborne Street residence after receiving a report of an injured male at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Officers attended the residence and located the victim, who was suffering from stab wounds. The male was transported to hospital. Despite the life-saving measures performed, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The accused was on scene and taken into custody by officers without incident.

The accused and the victim were known to each other. This incident has been classified as an Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)-related homicide. No threat to public safety exists as a result of this incident.

As a result, a 37-year-old female resident of Brantford stands charged with one count of Second Degree Murder, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for bail.
