The City of Brantford will offer March Break Day Camps, a Youth Leadership Development Level 1 course and activities from March 14 to 18, 2022 for children ages 4 to 16 at Branlyn, Doug Snooks Eagle Place, T.B.Costain/SC Johnson and Woodman Park Community Centres and the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. All necessary health and safety protocols will be in place including physical distancing, face coverings and regular hand washing hygiene. Pre-registration is required for some programming.

“We are excited to be able to provide a variety of opportunities for kids to get out and enjoy spending time with other kids their age in a safe environment,” said Lori-Dawn Cavin, Community Recreation and Events Manager. “We hope these Day Camps being offered throughout the City will provide support to parents in need of child care.”

Branlyn, Doug Snooks Eagle Place, T.B. Costain/SC Johnson and Woodman Park Community Centres, will offer March Break Day Camps for children ages 4 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free extended care will be available 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Campers can expect to have a great time playing sports, games, activities, crafts and more. Registrants must bring snacks, lunch and a refillable water bottle, and comfortable indoor running shoes.

The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, located at 254 North Park Street, will offer a March Break Aquatic Camp to children ages 6 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free extended care will be available 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy a variety of activities including: swimming, ice-skating, crafts, sports, games and more. Registrants must bring a swimsuit, towel, ice-skates, refillable water bottle, comfortable indoor running shoes and a nut-free lunch including snacks. Helmets are mandatory for ice-skating.

Limited financial assistance is available for Day Camps for those who qualify.  Please reference the Financial Assistance Chart to determine eligibility and fill out the Financial Assistance Application to apply. Woodman Park Community Centre will also offer a Youth Leadership Development Level 1 in-person course for youth ages 13 to 16 years from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Youth will receive basic training in leadership skills, communication, program planning, team building, inclusion, resource development and more followed by a 30-hour volunteer placement in a City recreation program. Pre-registration is required.

Pre-registration is required for all day camps and the Youth Development course through Brantford.ca/RecConnect. There are limited spots available. Additional health and safety protocols including, daily screening and sign-in, use of face coverings, enhanced cleaning and handwashing and physical distancing will be implemented. Children 12 years of age or over must show proof of double vaccination before entry using the new enhanced QR code and government issued I.D. Please note all programming is dependent on current provincial direction and modifications may be required.

Harmony Square, located at 89 Dalhousie Street, will offer free outdoor ice-skating, weather permitting from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Several local Neighbourhood outdoor ice rinks are also open.
