Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) made their fourth quarter payment totaling $1,018,526 to the City of Brantford for hosting Elements Casino Brantford.
During OLG’s fiscal year, Brantford has received $4,818,867. Since the gaming site opened in November 1999, Brantford has received $106,155,878.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“Elements Casino Brantford strengthens the community through sharing gaming revenue that supports local priorities and programs,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “In addition to job creation and community support, the Municipality Contribution Agreement with OLG delivers substantial benefits to Brantford.”
Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.5 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.
Over the past nine years, service providers have invested more than $2.5 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, one large scale resort development, numerous gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.
