City of Brantford seeking input from youth

NewsCity of Brantford seeking input from youth

The City of Brantford is currently working towards developing a new municipal Youth Strategy.

The City is inviting youth, ages 15 to 29, their parents or guardians, and youth service providers to share their feedback and ideas on Let’s Talk Brantford, the City’s online engagement portal.

“We look forward to hearing from local youth about the issues that are most important to them, as well as their ideas for continuing to build a youth-friendly community,” said Laura Almeida, Community Development Coordinator for the City of Brantford. “The feedback gathered through the youth strategy survey will help City staff turn ideas into action and create future opportunities for youth recreation and social connections.”

The development of a new municipal Youth Strategy to engage and support youth is a priority of Brantford City Council. A municipal youth strategy will help guide the City with specific goals and actions and will outline opportunities to continue working with community partners to support local youth. This youth survey will help capture ideas about how the new strategy can continue supporting outcomes for local youth, as well as how the City can maintain our official designation as a Youth-Friendly Community.

The youth strategy survey is open for responses until Friday, October 15, 2021. Those who participate in the survey, and provide a contact email, will be entered to win a Walmart gift card valued from $10 to $50. The survey is available at www.LetsTalkBrantford.ca/BrantfordYouth. Paper copies will be available upon request for those requiring accommodation by emailing communityrecreation@brantford.ca.
