This month, the City of Brantford is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the extensive renovation of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.

While the big celebration takes place on Saturday, October 21, the community is invited to be a part of this exciting milestone starting today.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre 10th Anniversary Lead-up Events

The City is offering a variety of free and low-cost recreational activities this month, leading up to a very special celebration on Saturday, October 21, 2023 filled with exciting, free family fun.

Don’t miss out on a number of free activities leading up to the big celebration on October 21, including a free parent and child skate, family paint night, drop-in recreational badminton, family yoga, aquafit and much more! Saturday, October 21 – Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre 10th Anniversary Family Fun Celebration

On October 21, 2023, the municipality will be pulling out all the stops to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the renovation of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s going to be an unforgettable day filled with fun and festivities for the whole family including a Ferris wheel, free Public Swim and Skate, meet and greets with your favourite Paw Patrol characters Skye and Chase and The Q-Mack All Star Experience Show. Special one-day-only membership promotions will be available as well as facility tours and giveaways.

Plus, get ready to witness history in the making as Doug “The Great” Hunt attempts to break the stilt walking Guinness World Record – an exhilarating feat you won’t want to miss, 50 feet in the air! We will also unveil a new outdoor public art display to honour our beloved late Lord Mayor Walter Gretzky.
